· The hangings
Traditionally stretched, our silk, wool or polyester fabrics dress both walls and ceilings.
In lampas, damask, brocatelle or brocade, the possibilities are endless. The traditional hanging techniques of our upholsterers can be applied to every kind of wall and ceiling — from the living room to the bedrooms — and embellished with trimmings or embroidery. The wide choice of materials, patterns and colours gives free rein to every creation.
· The fitting
For a perfect result, hangings are fitted with an invisible finish using blind-tacking — a process that demands many years of experience. Our upholsterers are trained and skilled in this precise work, with a perfect command of how to install and shape a hanging.
Beyond their originality and luxury, wall hangings offer excellent thermal and acoustic insulation: the fleece behind the fabric creates an extra layer of air between the cloth and the wall.
Our workshops are recognised for this craft — and have been privileged to dress the walls of many historical buildings.
· Acoustic treatment
Atelier Funfrock creates decors with acoustic treatment for home cinemas — working alongside architects, home-automation integrators and acousticians to guarantee a unique sound experience. We propose acoustic drapes, wall coverings, and even bespoke acoustic hangings and ceiling upholstery.
Our mastery of stretched-fitting techniques, with acoustic fabrics and fleeces, absorbs sound waves, reduces echo and soundproofs the room.
